Harvey Nichols encourages Christmas Scrooges

Christmas is known as “the season of giving” but this year department store Harvey Nichols has put its own individual spin on that tradition with its festive campaign, “Sorry, I spent it on myself.”

The range comprises of a collection of super low-cost gifts including a £1 elastic band gift set, a non-Swiss biro pen at 81p, and a water-resistant sink plug costing £1.13.

The range, which is sure to please all those Scrooges out there, boasts the tagline “A little something for them, a bigger something for you”, will be available in stores and online from this Wednesday November 27.

Julia Bowe, group press and marketing director of Harvey Nichols, said the new collection will allow shoppers to “spoil themselves” this Christmas.

While it’s a great money-saving scheme, we can’t imagine receivers of the cheap and cheerful gifts will be overjoyed on Christmas day – we think a £1 elastic band set might just be the modern day equivalent of a lump of coal in your stocking…
