Gucci has released its new campaign for the Spring/Summer season, featuring eccentric and colourful characters wandering the streets of Rome.
The campaign, shot by British director Glen Luchford, is titled “Wild Days and Nights in Roma”. The surreal movie follows a collective of artists and creatives, inspired by the likes of Cy Twombly, Mario Schifano and Laura Betti, who consider Rome to be their home.
Some of the most memorable scenes include the whole cast splashing in the city’s iconic Trevi fountain, models eating hamburgers dressed in evening gowns, and casually hanging out in the company of tigers, leopards, and lions, and a picnic in the Parco degli Acquedotti, with giraffe as guest of honour.
The collection for 2017 is inspired by ‘70s disco fashion and notable pieces include bleached punk denim jeans, printed logo bootleg-style t-shirts, vintage-style dresses, and bedazzled rhinestone sunglasses and evening bags.
The shoot was styled by Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele, who is known for his eccentric and vibrant designs and his inspiration he takes from the animal kingdom.
