French Connection has followed in the footsteps of other high-street retailers Topshop, Whistles, and Dorothy Perkins, and launched its debut bridal collection with a range of affordable wedding and bridesmaid dresses.

The collection comprises of classic floor-length bridal gowns, as well as contemporary pieces for a more alternative look. Styles range from flowing boho frocks with bell sleeves to traditional dresses with a hand-embellished bodice and full skirt. Inspiration for the collection was taken from wedding gowns worn by celebrities including Poppy Delevingne, Kate Moss and Bianca Jagger.

For brides who prefer not to wear a dress, there are two alternative outfits available: lace trousers with a pussy-bow blouse, and a lace top and culotte twinset.

The bridesmaid dresses are available in a summer sorbet colour palette with colourful embroidery, beaded detailing, and layers of tulle.

Design director at French Connection, Maria Chen, said: “In recent years, we’ve seen customers making purchases from French Connection’s main collections for their weddings. Shoppers are able to buy affordable pieces in every other category except bridal, so it felt like a natural progression to launch a wedding capsule. With the growing trend of wedding dresses that don’t blow the budget, as well as bride’s wearing multiple outfits on the day, the idea was welcomed by our inner circle of brides-to-be.”

Pieces in the collection range in price from £65 to £250 and will be available from the 1st of February 2018 online and in-store.
