Harry Potter actress and style icon Emma Watson has teamed up with Italian designer Alberta Ferretti to launch an environmentally friendly collection called ‘Pure Threads’.
The range will be produced with materials and techniques from Italy that are kind to the environment. Ferretti told WWD.com that this is the first step in a long-term project to help associate the brand with “sensitive people, who want to be supportive of these kind of issues”.
The collection will consist of five pieces made up of two dresses, a shirt, a long skirt and a pair of denim shorts all made from organic fabrics. Part of the proceeds from the fashion line will go to non-profit charity organisation People Tree, who collaborate with manufacturers in developing countries to produce low-impact clothing.
Watson has already proven herself in the eco-fashion sector having previously released three ‘green’ collections for People Tree. Her latest range will be available exclusively on albertaferretti.com from 21st March.
