Covent Garden is fast becoming THE destination for London’s cosmetic junkies, as this month sees the opening of Dior’s beauty boutique, situated in the heart of Covent Garden’s Piazza.
Dior is in good company in its new home, as Chanel recently revealed that its make-up pop-up shop is now a permanent feature, and beauty behemoth MAC unveiled their Neal Street three-storey cosmetic heaven earlier this year.
As one would expect from such an iconic brand, visually the store is a delight to behold, decked out in black lacquer with flashes of neon. As well as the entire beauty range, Dior’s extensive fragrance collection will be available to shop.
Visitors to the beauty boutique can expect to leave with more than just a coveted bottle of Dior Poison though, as key to the success of the launch will be customer experiences including skincare master classes, make-up coaching and manicures inspired by the couture creations of Dior womenswear’s artistic director Raf Simons.
As a moving-in gift to the legions of devoted Dior fans, the brand created two limited-edition products; a Covent Garden palette of velvety black and steel-grey shadows, and a lip gloss in a trademark shade of delicate rose, paying homage to the flower market originally situated where the Dior store is located today.
Christian Dior himself once said he dreamt of making women not only more beautiful, but also happier. We’d say he’s on the right track!
