David Beckham to design bodywear for H&M

David Beckham is no stranger to fashion, having famously modelled underwear for Emporio Armani and even launching his own range of fragrances. He’s now about to branch out into bodywear, designing a range of underwear and t-shirts exclusively for high-street chain H&M. Intricate details of the designs are yet to be revealed, but David admits that his own starring role in the Armani ads spurred him on, saying: “It proved to me that there is a real market for good-looking, well-made men’s bodywear.”

The collaboration may come as a surprise to many, as H&M are more well-known for teaming up with high-fashion labels such as Lanvin and Karl Lagerfeld, but Beckham’s input is set to go global across 1800 stores in 40 countries worldwide.

David’s bodywear line will launch on 2nd February 2012, and as H&M’s head of design Ann-Sofie Johansson notes, Valentine’s Day 2012 is set to be an exciting time for the brand. She also added that the partnership with Beckham is for the long-term.
