High street favourite Coast has a fresh, elegant new look for AW13 under the watchful eye of its new design director, Kim Elliott, formerly of Monsoon Accessorize and whose ultimate muses are silver screen goddesses Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn.
Coast is famed for its signature dresses, and these remain a key part of the collections. You can expect clean, simple silhouettes starting at a purse-friendly £85. The brand’s day dresses reference the ‘60s, cut from woven jacquard with oversized print and block colours, and can easily be dressed up with statement jewellery and accessories.
If body hang-ups are your concern, then the brand’s unique ‘Cinch, Sculpt and Shape’ collection will be music to your ears. Lined in powermesh and coming in bold colours or classic black, these four dresses slim and smooth for a leaner and taller-looking silhouette.
Keeping your eyes peeled for something glamorousin the run up to the Christmas party season? The red carpet collection is inspired by the ‘30s, while the brand’s party dresses come with cutouts, sexy cowl backs and statement embellishment. We love the LBD with a tulip skirt and cinched waist, as well as a fabulous red number with tonal adornment.
Its not only dresses that you can expect, however. Separates are an important part of the line-up, from flattering peplum tops, easy fluid jackets, beaded T-shirts and flattering skinny trousers, with pops of metallics, animal prints and cobalt. Look out for the white sleeveless shirt with a tuxedo-style sash necktie – perfect to take you from the office to an evening out.
All these new collections are available in store and online from this month.
