Scottish designer Christopher Kane has won this year’s British Fashion Council / Vogue Fashion Fund.
He is the second winner of the award and will receive a £200,000 prize, as well as expert mentoring from fashion heavyweights. Together they’ll help work out a 12 month business plan for Kane’s company to help him turn his creative business into a global fashion brand.
The Scottish designer beat off stiff competition from Osman Yousefzada, Richard Nicoll, Peter Pilotto, Jonathan Saunders, Patrick Grant, Nicholas Kirkwood and Charlotte Dellal. He told Vogue: “I am absolutely delighted to be this year’s winner of the BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund. It is such an honour to receive this accolade especially when I have such huge respect for all the nominees.”
A great talent and a deserving winner – we can’t wait to see what he comes up with next!
