Burberry’s Chief Creative and Executive Officer Christopher Bailey has been announced as the designer of this year’s Claridge’s Christmas Tree – an iconic piece that is reimagined by fashion’s finest every year.
This is the first time a British person will have created a tree for the regal hotel, with Bailey drawing inspiration from the London location’s art deco lobby and Burberry’s rich heritage of weather protection.
As a result, the tree will be made up of over 100 umbrellas, each finished in gold and silver metallic fabrics, allowing light and shadow to reflect around the lobby. The lights around the tree will also sense movement, making them twinkle when guests walk by.
Christopher Bailey’s Claridge’s Christmas Tree will be unveiled on November 16 at Claridge’s, Brook Street, London.
