Cath Kidston has celebrated its 20th birthday in style, with the opening of its largest store in the world at 180 Piccadilly in London.
Christmas came early for fans of the brand, when on the 6th of December Cath Kidston-print London taxis burst from a giant Christmas present at Marble Arch. After their explosive entrance, the most kitsch cars in London made their way to the 7000 sq. ft. store. The cabs will continue to make the journey throughout the opening week, ferrying fans from anywhere in Zone 1 and 2 to the store, for free!
The brand new flagship store is certainly making its presence felt – the surrounding streets have been covered in one of the iconic floral prints, whilst Barclays Cycle Hire users will have their days brightened with Cath Kidston ‘London Christmas’ printed seat covers.
Cath Kidston, founder and Creative Director said: “Twenty years ago, when it first began, in a small shop in Holland Park, I never imagined that we would have over 100 stores across the UK, Europe and Asia. We are so excited about the London flagship launch and delighted that we have found this perfect landmark site in Piccadilly. It fits our brand perfectly.”
There’s more big news for the brand on the horizon, as it is to go on sale in the New Year, and is set to be sold for £250million.
