The Al Fayed family have been feeling very fashionable recently, with Mohamed Al Fayed buying luxury fashion e-tailer Cocosa last week, and now daughter Camilla has bought a significant stake in London fashion label Issa. A favourite brand of the Middleton sisters, 51 percent of Issa has been bought by Camilla, who has gained the new title of chairwoman.
Issa was founded by the Brazilian designer Daniella Issa Helayel, who will remain as creative director and retain 49 per cent of the business. Speaking to WWD, Daniella said: “The investment will help to grow the business and take it to the next level. I looked at a lot of investors, and Camilla came with the best fit. She has the infrastructure behind her, she’s well connected, and she will open a lot of doors.”
The brand is set to develop significantly in the next year, launching its first e-commerce site in the next few weeks and planning to open a stand-alone store in London soon.
