Announced at this week’s International Herald Tribune conference 2010, Burberry Bespoke will allow online shoppers to customise their own trench coats, taking control over design features such as colours, linings, fabrics and buttons and we should also expect edgier customisation options such as spikes, collar shapes and shearling inserts. All together there are likely to be 12 million different options available! However, Christopher Bailey (Chief Creative Director) and Angela Ahrendts (CEO) were staying tight lipped on price points and exact launch dates.
This venture is in keeping with the continued regeneration of Burberry which can now boast to be a truly digital luxury brand following initiatives such as 3-D live streaming of fashion week shows and their own social network, Art of the Trench.
