You may remember that back in July we reported on the British Fashion Council’s Contemporary initiative, when select designers were chosen to create capsule collections to be sold in a bespoke eBay store during London Fashion Week.
Now that fashion month is upon us, the fruits of this project are now live and available to buy at the online pop-up boutique. All items are priced at under £100 and include silk scarves by Alexis Barrell, iPhone cases by Paper London, a clutch by Zoë Jordan and ready-to-wear by Georgia Hardinge. Alongside these more accessible pieces will be items from each of the designer’s main collections.
To celebrate the launch, eBay has partnered with television presenter and fashion journalist Louise Roe. “For me, contemporary fashion and supporting emerging talent is a real passion… I always watch out for new names in the fashion industry keeping things fresh on the ready-to-wear scene,” explained Louise of her view on the project.
“When eBay approached me about the BFC Contemporary Shop, I was thrilled to get involved,” she continued. “I’m not only inspired by the work of the selected designers and their incredible unique items but am also excited to champion a new initiative, which seeks to help new talent, whilst making London Fashion Week more accessible to fashion fans across the UK.”
