Anne Deniau, the French photographer who captured British designer Alexander McQueen’s life in fashion throughout his career, is launching a book filled with her exclusive images – many taken backstage at his most iconic shows.
Named ‘Love Looks Not With the Eyes’, (a line taken from Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, which McQueen had tattooed on his arm) the book is bursting with Deniau’s images, from personal portraits to show snaps, which she believes Alexander would have picked himself, according to an interview The Telegraph.
The pair met in 1996, when Anne was working for French fashion house Givenchy and McQueen was appointed as the label’s creative director. After years of following the London-born designer’s life, Deniau has condensed around 30,000 images into a book of just 400. We can’t wait to see the fashion gems it surely contains.
Love Looks Not With the Eyes is out on October 1.
