Fashion fans could soon see one of London’s most iconic designers appear on their bank notes, with rumours circulating that Alexander McQueen is set to be immortalised on the new £20 note.

The Bank of England has asked the public to put forward suggestions for the new addition to our currency, with the consultation process beginning yesterday at the Victoria & Albert Museum, where the Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty exhibition is currently on display.

According to reports, betting shop Ladbrokes currently holds McQueen at an 8-1 chance, with filmmaker Richard Attenborough and artist William Hogarth ahead at 4-1.
