British model Agyness Deyn has faced controversy this week after lying about her age in a magazine article age to appear younger, claiming she was 18 instead of 24, because she started modelling later than most models.
Agynes, who’s real name is Laura Hollins, was signed in 2006 at the age of 24, which she considered “quite old”. Speaking to the Daily Mail she said: “When I decided to really do modelling I was 18. That was quite old so a little later we knocked off a few years.”
However, “friends” from her home in Lancashire set up a Facebook group in 2007 called ‘Agyness Deyn You’re Not 18’, attempting to out the model after a magazine article claimed she was born in 1989. Agyness now admits the lie, revealing her real age of 29.
Do you think Agyness was right to lie?
