Accessory Designer Beatrice Ong Receives MBE

Luxury accessories designer Beatrice Ong is to become a Member of the Order of the British Empire for her services to the fashion industry. The 34-year-old appears on The Queen’s 2011 New Year’s Honours List along with British fashion designer Alice Temperley.

Beatrix said: “I feel delighted and humbled to be recognised for this honour. I love what I do and this has come as such a lovely surprise and a wonderful start to the year!”

Ong launched her first range in 2002 and has since collaborated with Nike, designing custom iD Blazer trainers, and Globetrotter, designing a luxury luggage range. In 2008 she added a menswear range to her portfolio, entitled Ong London.

2010 saw the opening of her first flagship boutique in Chelsea, London, and a relaunch of the online store. Her newest collection features smart business style heels and brogues, along with glamorous heels and glittering pumps. Her celeb fans include Sienna Miller, Thandie Newton and Quentin Tarantino.
