QUEEN ELIZABETH II 610x561 The Queens Crown Jewels to go on display in August
HRH Queen Elizabeth II is putting some of the monarchy’s most precious jewels on display in August to celebrate her Diamond Jubilee.

Marking 60 years on the throne, the jewels will be part of an exhibition at Buckingham Palace called ‘Diamonds: A Jubilee Celebration’, which will show “the ways in which diamonds have been used and worn by British monarchs over the last two centuries”, according to the Palace.

The exhibition will include the diamond crown worn by Queen Victoria in her official Diamond Jubilee portrait in 1897, as well as her Coronation necklace and earrings, and a Williamson brooch that geologist Dr. J.T. Williamson discovered in 1947 in Tanzania and gave to Queen Elizabeth as a wedding gift.
