My London: Stephane Grenier – CEO of Miller Harris

INTERVIEWS | | Leave a Comment

Miller Harris is a niche perfume line founded in the UK in 2000 by Lyn Harris, who named the brand after her father’s middle and last names. Ms. Harris studied perfumery in Paris (Cinquieme Sens) and Grasse (Robertet). The brand also sells scented teas, home fragrances and bath & body products, and specialises in bespoke perfumes.

We caught up with the current Miller Harris CEO, Stephane Grenier, to talk London, life and style for the latest in our ‘My London’ series.

Favourite neighbourhood:

Primrose Hill, it is where I moved to when I arrived in London and I haven’t left.

Favourite place for brunch:

Caravan in Kings Cross is a great place to meet for brunch. The food is seasonally inspired and most importantly they do a great coffee.

Best coffee in London:

Taylor Street Barista behind Claridge’s. It’s a hidden gem just off Oxford Street and a local recommended it to me about a year ago. It’s my go to place in town for coffee.

Favourite gallery or museum:

Natural History Museum my children love this place! There are great exhibits for everyone and it doesn’t matter how many times you go, you always find something new.

Favourite building:

Barbican Centre is an icon on the urban landscape. It is very recognisable and is an incredible social hub.

Favourite place to shop:

Selfridges for the creativity and shopping experience. There’s a reason why they’ve been voted as department store of the world again!

Favourite place to find inspiration:

The Tate Modern not only has engaging exhibits but a great area for kids to explore. The shop is a must go to destination to find creative and fun gifts for people.

Best London destination for a date:

High up on The Shard! What better way to see London than from The View with a glass of champagne. The views are fantastic especially at dusk.

Favourite park:

Regent’s Park especially the Queen Mary’s Garden. The array of flowers is a sight to see! We enjoy going to the Open Air Theatre in the summer. We can’t wait to see what shows will be on this year.

Favourite food market:

Borough Market or Brixton Market.. Im saying two locations because I couldn’t decide. It depends on your mood! Borough market has so much history attached to it. Brixton Market is super creative and has a West Indian influence that I like.

Your sanctuary in the city:

It would have to be the main shopping street in Primrose Hill. I enjoy spending a Saturday afternoon wondering up and down it with my family and friends. It has a lot of character.

What inspires you?

My travels around the world, meeting so different people and cultures. I have just returned from a trip across Europe and spent time in Milan, Amsterdam and Paris. I am always on the go!

This season I’m loving:

Summer as it announces sun and warmer temperatures, with nature bursting again. You can see the change in everyone’s attitude with a little sunshine in the day!
