Kyle Ng is a Los Angeles-based menswear designer who is also the host of brand new Red Bull TV show Social Fabric.

Kyle is known for his streetwear brands (Farm Tactics, Axs Folk Technology, Brain Dead), collaborations with brands such as Levi’s, Vans and Urban Outfitters, and is also behind fashion video content for online destination Hypebeast.

In Social Fabric, Kyle reveals the surprise stories behind everyday fabrics, from jeans to cowboy boots, and how they are styled, individualised and made iconic. Travelling around the world, the episodes include interviews with the craftsmen, collectors and celebrities behind the materials.

We caught up with Kyle for the latest in our ‘My London’ series.

 

Favourite neighbourhood:

I love Notting Hill. Great weekend market, Garbstore, and Honest Jons.

 

Favourite place for brunch:

Dishoom. Best food around.

 

Best coffee in London:

Rose Bakery. It doesn’t hurt that its in my favourite store ever.

 

Favourite gallery or museum:

Tate Modern. Beautiful space, and its free!

 

Tell us a secret:

I think The Who is overrated. They are my dads favourite band, but I just cant get into them.

 

Favourite place to shop:

Dover Street Market. I love Comme des Garçons and their artful taste on retail.

 

Favourite place to find inspiration:

Honest Jons. Amazing curation of all the music I love.

 

Best London destination for a date:

Dishoom. The Décor is so romantic!

 

Favourite park:

Unfortunately haven’t had much time to go to a park in London.

 

Favourite food market:

Broadway Market. A little taste of London!

 

Your sanctuary in the city:

My friend Gassius’ studio. I love seeing all his work in one place.

 

What inspires you?

Londons music scene is so great. Always pushing the limits.

 

This season I’m loving:
