I love my home in St John’s Wood, I really like being so central and close to town but also having lots of green space around. I can easily walk to Primrose Hill, Regents Park and even Hampstead. If I were to ever live anywhere else in London it would probably be Marylebone, I think it has it all. Restaurants, cafés, lots of great healthy places and quite a good shopping street.
Favourite place for brunch:
Definitely The Wolseley, the service and ambience added to the delicious menu make it a lovely experience. I have been going there for years and it is a great environment to socialise with friends or take meetings. Normally I go for the caramelized grapefruit followed by pancakes! Naughty but at least I’m getting one of my 5 a day with the fruit.
Best coffee in London:
I’m not a huge coffee fan, but when we go to Columbia Road we always visit the little hole in the wall that’s serves proper Italian coffee, however I’d much prefer to go for tea at little House. I’m a true English girl at heart and I always take English breakfast or Earl Grey, not too strong and a dash of milk!
Favourite gallery or museum:
I love the V&A and my partner and I are members. They always have such interesting exhibitions where I can go and get truly inspired. The McQueen exhibition was off the wall. So amazing. I was overwhelmed with inspiration and sketching like crazy whilst I was there.
Tell us a secret:
Starting my own business means that I am working every single minute of the day, I love it but I’m a girl who needs her sleep. I’m a true Cinderella at heart. I always like to be in bed by midnight!
Favourite place to shop:
I love to explore small boutiques that I find when I’m travelling. I’ve always loved to have things that no one else has!
The vintage stores on Brick Lane are a favourite of mine to find unusual pieces to mix into everyday wear. Its also great for inspiration!
Browns is always a first point of call for me when I need something special, they are great at picking out new designers, the ones to watch. It’s such a beautiful store to browse around, I know I’m selecting from the best I know that they would have hand selected only the best! If I’m shopping for home then I head straight for Net-A-Porter, so much choice and delivered straight to my door!
Favourite place to find inspiration:
I get inspired all the time, I could be reading on a flight and an idea pops into my head or on a beach somewhere……relaxing in the sun whilst my mind wanders….
The streets of Palm in Mallorca are so atmospheric. I adore to walk around them especially at night with the warm glow of the lights leading the way. It’s very relaxing and allows thoughts of inspiration to flow.
Best London destination for a date:
Regents Park open air theatre during the summer. So pretty and brings an immediate romance to the occasion!
I also like to be spontaneous, we may have eaten dinner at home but then go for a drive somewhere and then get out and walk. One of my best kept secrets is the Creperie in Hampstead!
So good in the winter months, walking hand in hand around the Dickensian streets of Hampstead with a warm crepe – yum!
There are so many great parks but I think my favourite is Regents Park.
I really enjoy picnics and Regents park is the best place to go. You can always find a quiet spot under a tree to sit and watch the world go by.
I also like to watch the sunrise or set on Primrose Hill – you can see the sky line of London. I feel so luck to live in such a beautiful city.
Favourite food market:
I’m quite obsessed with Borough Olives that we always buy from Columbia Road flower market on a Sunday. We try to wake up early and get there before its too busy. We wander around, grab our olives and flowers then head to Shoreditch House for brunch! If the weather is nice we often go to Brick Lane too.
Your sanctuary in the city:
My home is my haven. I am lucky to have such a beautiful space. To relax I put on some candles and rest in my lounge or watch a movie in bed. Our walls are full of art work so there is always something interesting to see and we have a large garden surrounded by trees.
What inspires you?
My travels – the architecture and different cultures that I’m so lucky to experience.
Some of my favourite places include Mallorca, Rome and the USA. Each is so different with its own culture and landscape. I would like to discover more of Italy and I plan to take a road trip there one day. I would like to hire a car and drive along the coast staying in each town for a couple of days.
This season I’m loving:
Fashion wise it has to be the off-shoulder trend – totally one of my faves! To me, the shoulders are one of the sexiest parts of the female body and so many great designers have chosen to accentuate this within their collections this season.
Every season I am in love with Ralph Lauren, the man is a genius! Be it home or fashion, it’s always such great style! Just effortlessly chic.
Jonathan Simkhai is a designer that inspires me, I feel that there are similarities to me and I love watching his success grow and grow.
