Run by sisters Chloe and Florence Bellas and situated within their father’s former revered Bellissima in chic South Kensington, the sisters create coiffed hair for a sophisticated London clientele.
Florence’s creative streak was evident early on and saw her embark on a career in fashion, working with the likes of Acne, Burberry and Elle magazine. Wanting to continue his legacy, she trained under her father and now transforms the crops of London’s elite.
Chloe’s organisational talent and background in events management were the perfect foundation to take on the day-to-day running of the salon. As General Manager, she ensures a seamless experience, wanting clients to leave with that all important ‘feel-good’ factor.
We caught up with Chloe and Florence for the latest in our ‘My London’ interview series.
Maida Vale – it’s currently where home is for both of us. It’s very green and nice to be by the water. Especially in the summer months. It has some great pubs and lots of great restaurants and little shops.
Favourite place for brunch:
Hally’s in Parsons Green – our family home is in the area so it’s nice to feel the comfort of being close to home too. Hally’s has an array of very tasty healthy foods and drinks. We are big fans of a good breakfast and they do it really well!
Best coffee in London:
It does change but we are creatures of habit so once we find a good one we’ll stick to it for months at a time! At the moment it’s Baker & Spice – it’s quite handy as there’s one located in Maida Vale and another one not far from the salon so it’s easy to pick up coffee from there in the morning!
Favourite gallery or museum:
Saatchi Gallery on King’s Road – Over the last year they’ve had some great exhibitions on show from the likes of Chanel to the Rolling Stones exhibiting the history behind the brands and the band.
Tell us a secret:
We can’t blowdry our own hair! – having been spoilt our whole lives with both parents as hairdressers & owning hair salon’s we’ve never had to do it ourselves!
Favourite place to shop:
Favourite place to find inspiration:
Barrecore – having always been into exercise, we discovered Barrecore a year ago and we find it really helps clear our minds & find balance for the day ahead. Not to mention what a happy place it is!
Best London destination for a date:
Osteria Basilico in Notting Hill – we’ve been going there for years & in our opinion it’s one of the best Italian’s in London! It’s romantic & cosy, the food is amazing, they have a great wine selection and the staff are really friendly. We’ve also been going there for years so it feels like home!
Regent’s Park – it’s not too big and it has lots of lovely little coffee shops located there. Not to mention how perfectly kept the gardens are!
Favourite food market:
When we can get to it, Borough Market – it has everything! Everyone is always so friendly & it has a lovely atmosphere. In Maida Vale we are very fortunate to have a fruit & vegetable shop called Clifton Greens which is great for organic fruit & veg!
Your sanctuary in the city:
Home – there’s nothing like going back to home comforts. Our mum is very good at spoiling us with great food and a lot of love!
What inspires you?
Our Dad – he’s installed a great work ethic in us and has a very positive attitude towards life.
This season I’m loving:
Dungarees – they are so easy to wear and comfortable which is crucial when you are on your feet all day!
