Anushka Lakhani is the founder of Anushka tried and tested every blowdry on offer to find the best for her unruly hair. Noticing a lack of good quality and affordable blowdries in London, she embarked on her dream, to open her very own blow dry bar in the heart of Kensington.
We caught up with Anushka for the latest in our ‘My London’ interview series.

This winter was the first time I learned to ski and I’m hooked! I wasted 31 years not making it to the slopes.
Favourite place to shop:
I like to shop near Brompton Cross off Fulham road. There are lots of great brands and boutiques.
Favourite place to find inspiration:
I love taking long walks around London and discovering the city’s hidden gems – be it a new restaurant, café or boutique.
Best London destination for a date:
Mazi – cosy, intimate and great food for sharing.
Kensington Gardens. It’s never over crowded and offers a lot of space to have fun with friends and family.
Favourite food market:
Borough market! I have a sweet tooth and Borough Market always has amazing dessert options.
Your sanctuary in the city:
I love spending time in Evelyn gardens. It’s quiet and secluded and close to home.
What inspires you?
Meeting passionate people from all walks of life drives me to create something successful in my own field.
This season I’m loving:
Boxer braids aka the double dutch braid. It’s simple yet edgy and can be worn both at the gym and out and about.
