FEATURES | LONDON GUIDES | | Leave a Comment

Clapham isn’t just famous for its 220 acre common which holds the popular SW4 festival in the summer; it’s a hive for entertainment, with a buzzing high street, a trendy arts scene and some of the best gastro pubs in south London.

And now you experience the best of SW4 for less. We’ve teamed with estate agents Portico to bring you some fantastic offers and reviews of local bars, restaurants and cafes…

The Craft Beer Co.

2 for 1 roasts on a Sunday
Tucked down Clapham Manor Street, just a five minute walk from Clapham Common Tube station, is The Craft Beer Co: a welcoming gastropub that’s easy to spot with its green AstroTurf front beer garden and white picket fences. People travel from far and wide to experience their generous Sunday roasts, and they are famed for using only the best local ingredients and meats. They also have a huge range of craft beers and a wall piled high with board games – so most people who head there for lunch tend to stay all day.

Esca Deli

10% off your total bill

Esca is the place to go for lunch or brunch. Based on Clapham High Street, it’s a popular deli that serves up fresh, homemade food. The salad bar is the star of the show; choose two different salads (try the chicken and mango with rocket and sun-dried tomatoes and cherry tomatoes, or their roasted potato chorizo with roasted peppers and red onion) and add a meat (we recommend the piri piri chicken or their grilled salmon) or a pasta for a delicious healthy lunch.

The Pepper Tree

10% off your total bill

A popular spot for nibbles or a light meal and strong cocktails before a night out. The Pepper Tree – located at 19 Clapham Common South Side – is a twenty-something magnet, serving up moreish Thai food is a relaxed canteen-like dining room. It’s already fantastic value for money; a green curry will cost you a mere £5.75, we recommend washing it down with a Lychee Mai Tai (£6.95) or a Chilli Mojito (£6.95).

64th&Social

20% off all full priced drinks
This yellow and black striped venue is without a doubt one of Clapham’s coolest cocktail bars, always lively with locals enjoy great drinks, quality food and a bit of a boogie. There’s also a downstairs dancefloor where resident DJs play anything from funk, hip hop, house and garage all week long. We recommend heading there early and tucking into a fillet steak, which comes with two sides, a sauce and a pint of Asahi or a small glass of house wine (£15).

Eco

10% off your total bill
It’s a bold statement, but Eco really does serve up the best pizza and pasta in Clapham. The guys there have been making pizza for over 20 years, but the place is as modern and cool as restaurants come, with an industrial vibe and an open kitchen. Head there on a Friday or Saturday night and share some fresh sourdough bread with delicious dips and some cocktails.
