In the midst of a bleak February evening came a sparkling array of sequins,
romance, flowers and billowing dresses. Ashley Isham’s visionary collection was
entitled ‘The Enchanted Forest’ and the line certainly conjured images of Titania,
Alice, and fairy tale princesses. There was a predominance of deep forest green
fabrics with floral print or silver sequins, in asymmetrical cuts and flowing, light
fabrics. The collection was completed with floral and lace headdresses and masks,
some with oriental details, adding an exotic twist to the typical English rose look.
The show will, however, also be remembered for a spectacular fall by one
of the models. London Fashion Week A/w 2011 claims its first victim.
