Tip: Arrive between 8am and 9am for the best picks and to beat the traffic along the M40. No harm going a few days before Christmas to score some good deals too.

We usually head straight for the exclusive in-house Liberty prints – scarves, shirts and stationery – plus there’s also excellent stuff in their Christmas Shop (buy now, keep for next year!). Look out also for heavy Boxing Day reductions from major brands like Stella McCartney, Kenzo and Marc Jacobs. Tip: Get ahead of the crowd and shop online on Christmas Day instead.

M&S on Boxing Day attracts locals and tourists alike. Ok, so these guys aren’t open on Boxing Day (just like John Lewis) but with discounts of up to 70% on most of the store, we’re willing to overlook this little Boxing Day mishap. Go especially if you’re into Rei Kawakubo’s Comme des Garçons lines and other collaborations with Hermés, the Beatles and Dover Street Market x Nike.
