Blow dry bars are popping up across London but we’ve narrowed it down to these 10. Trust us when we say you’ll leave with the best coiffure in town.
8 Slingsby Place, WC2E 9AB
This one-stop beauty shop in Covent Garden is fun, fast and there are plenty of options to choose from. Blow’s Beauty Bar menu includes a “Power Blow” for Day-to-Night voluminous locks or you can opt for a chilled out “Beach Blow” for tousled, laid-back tresses instead.
Price: £25 for 30 minutes. Add another £15 for a bespoke Kerastase conditioning boost. The best part? They throw in a free head massage, too. We’re sold!
Part of the reputable Hershesons group, these blow dry bars are great for a quick but chic fix. They’ve got 12 impeccable looks to choose from so chances are you’ll leave looking amazing. We love “The Bardot” for it’s retro glamour – just add some winged eyeliner and you’re good to go.
Price: £25 for 30 minutes. Booking advised. Tip: If you don’t have half an hour to spare, get their 15-minute blow dry – they use dry shampoo so no wash necessary!
249-251 Regent Street, W1B 2EP
Located inside French Connection on Regent Street, the Blow Bar’s flagship styling salon caters for the everyday working girl. They’ve got 8 different styles but we particularly love the “Plait Perfection” that’s relaxed into a bun – perfect for parties.
Price: £25 for 30 minutes. Going for the “Tripple Tipple”, £50 will get you a Signature Blow Dry, make up and an express manicure.
The Cheeky Parlour
1st Floor, 64-66 Redchurch Street, E2 7DP
We are so in love with this place – it’s affordable, spacious and very Shoreditch. You get three “Cheeky Blow” options: Smooth, Bouncy or Beachy. Alternatively, get a Cheeky Up Do in a plait, knot or ponytail. Oh and before we forget, they’ve got an All Day Brunch menu (served till 6pm).
Price: £15 for 30 minutes. Tip: Get the Cheeky Fix Me Up (£25) if you want your nails done, plus a free drink.
174 High Holborn, WC1V 7AA
Bad hair morning? This place has got you covered. The Aveda Institute has this miracle worker: “The Breakfast Blow Dry”. They take in appointments as early as 8am, great for when you didn’t have time to wash your hair the night before (it happens to the best of us). Breakfast comes by way of an in-house Le Pain Quotidian, a bowl of organic granola and a coffee whilst you get pampered – yes please.
Price: From £29 for 45 minutes.
The Parlour London
8 Devonshire Road, W4 2HD
Recently shortlisted for ‘Hairdressing Salon of the Year’ by the London Lifestyle Awards, the Parlour and its signature “Bombshell Blowouts” are a God send.
Price: From £20 – £30. Tip: “Upgrade Your ‘Do” (for £12) and they’ll throw in a 10 minute head massage, conditioning treatment and 10% off all styling products. Ok, we’ve saved the best for last: Unlimited free cocktails for the duration of your service. #OMG
10 Carnaby Street, W1F 9PF
This beauty boutique is just like heaven but a lot more girly. The wallpaper is pink (of course) and has the cutest floral detailing. The list of services is extensive, with everything from spray tanning, brow shaping, waxing, manicures and of course – a gorgeous Blowout by Benefit blow-dry bar downstairs.
Price: From £26.50 for 30 minutes.
Neville Hair at the Bulgari Spa
171 Knightsbridge, SW7 1DW
Let’s be honest, we all need a bit of pampering every now and again. Whilst its Belgravia branch is all the rave, we prefer Neville Hair’s exclusive spot at the Bulgari. The “Red Carpet Programme” will get you – and your locks – ready for a magical evening out. Whilst you’re there, we totally recommend the Salt and Oil Scrub (£60).
Price: From £120, Appointments are taken from 7am – 9pm, Monday to Sunday.
Blo by Realhair
18 Cale Street, SW3 3QU
Trained by stylists who’ve worked in New York, Paris and Milan, the people at Blo are an experienced lot. We love that there’s no menu of styles, so just tell your stylist what you’re looking for and they’ll get to work. Walk-in service although booking is advised during peak hours. Sister branch at 36 Elizabeth Street, SW1A 9NZ.
Price: £25 for 30 minutes.
Hari’s Kings Road
233 Kings Road, SW3 5EJ
This Chelsea favourite is the go-to place for many a Kings Road socialite. Vogue says its “the go to for the very highest standards” and there’s no doubting that. We’ve heard a blow-dry here will last you a good two days (minimum!). If you’re in need of a classic updo, they’ve got a “Bun Bar” that’ll take care of all your back-combing woes.
Price: From £25
